Gloucester, Virginia is located on Virginia's eastern coast. It's a small(ish) county of about 36,000 (estimate from 2001). Enjoy!
I'm not sure exactly why I like Gloucester so much. It could be the small-town atmosphere. It could be the familiarity. It could be that the county shuts down at 9 and then it's so peaceful. It could be because I feel completely safe here. Whatever the reason, this is my favorite place to be!

I'm a 26-year-old 7th grade language arts teacher (in other words, mom to 68 kids!) I love to write and have written four terrible novels to date! (NaNoWriMo.org is AWESOME) Other than writing, I love to take pictures of... everything. I also like to read. A lot. I wish I could take a year off school and just read every book my kids have raved about! Enjoy and please leave me a comment!

Knowing you are safe definitely is a great factor I think...and familiarity too :)
I don't think Manila is the safest place in the earth but I am definitely familiar with it and have a close connection with that that's why I love it here the same way you love being in your city :)
